Discounted Saskatoon Bus Pass

Job seekers and other low income Saskatoon residents need to know about the $25 discounted bus pass.  The province and the city have an agreement where-by people on the following programs can access a discounted City of Saskatoon Monthly Bus Pass (Go-Pass) and a free LeisureCard:
  • Transitional Employment Allowance (TEA)
  • Social Assistance Program (SAP)
  • Provincial Training Allowance (PTA)
  • Saskatchewan Employment Supplement (SES)
  • Saskatchewan Rental Housing Supplement (SRHS).
In-order to apply for the discounted Go-Pass, you need to go to the Social Services office (160 2nd Ave. S.) and get them to fill out an application form.   Then you take the form, your benefit check stub and your Saskatchewan Health Services Card to the Transit office in the buss mall and you can purchase your discounted Go-Pass (expect to $30 the first time).  In addition, you can apply for a free one year LeisureCard (valued at $ 995 for a family) which provides unlimited admission to public open times, drop-in fitness and aquafitness classes, and drop-in sports at any of the six indoor leisure centres including the new Shaw Centre, the outdoor pools in the summer and the Fitness Circuit & Terry Fox Track at the SaskTel Sport Centre in Forest Park.

If you do not want to purchase a bus pass, but you want a LeisureCard, you can pick up a form at the Social Services office and apply.  This program looks at your income from last year, so you need to provide a copy of your last year’s Notice of Assessment.
