Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild - Workshop Instructor Needed

I recently heard about another summer job.  See below.....

Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild - Workshop Instructor Needed

In partnership with the Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company (SNTC), the SWG is seeking an emerging writer to act as a co-instructor for Bringing Back the Buffalo: Stories from the Core. This workshop takes place from August 20th-- 24th, and will require an additional five hours of e-mail correspondence from August 27th—31st.

We are looking for a writer to facilitate a five day workshop for youth.  Aboriginal applicants will be given preference. The successful applicant should be entering his/her writing career and looking to further develop his/her skills. In addition to acting as a co-instructor to a more established writer, the emerging writer will have the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by the other instructor. The successful applicant will have been published, but an extensive literary resume is not required.

You will be spending five days with a group of ten to fifteen Aboriginal youth aged 13 – 19.  You will be teaching youth the principles of creative writing. The outcome of this workshop will be a public reading at the SNTC, where participants will invite their friends and families to watch as they perform their writing projects.

If interested, please send a cover letter and your professional resume to Sarah Shoker by 4:00pm on June 15th. Please contact Sarah if you have any questions at (306) 955-5513 or via email at Saskatoon@skwriter.com.   You can also go to Facebook to message Sarah at the following group: Saskatchewan Writers' Guild Aboriginal Group

The Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild would like to thank everyone for their interest but only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
